Cafehopping In A Box...

Four years ago, I started blogging because I love to café-hop, and hence the title of my blog –SgCafeHopping. Same goes to Vivian and Maxine, who opened Cafehopping In A Box a year ago because they are avid café and dessert-lovers.

The concept of Cafehopping In A Box is built around their slogan which speaks, “Finest Pastries Made Convenient.” In other words, all the best pastries and desserts in Singapore (after going through careful curation and selection by the owners) can be found in the café. Not only will you get to satisfy your taste buds conveniently, the best part of it, would most probably be discovering new places you might have yet to come across. A trip to Cafehopping In A Box made me realised that there are some really good dessert places in Singapore that I'm still not aware of.

Maxine and Vivian's hardwork have definitely paid off as Cafehopping In A Box celebrates their one year anniversary in April. To commemorate this special month, they have launched a few special pastries which are only available at Cafehopping In A Box. Curious to find out what are they? Head down to Bukit Timah Plaza now to get your sweet tooth fixed!

These lovely pastries are only available in the month of April. So, if you don’t want to miss them, you have to grab them before the end of the month draws near!

The pastries are changed every month so as to not bore the guests with the same few pastries. Criteria for selecting the desserts: 1) Must taste good, 2) Different types of pastries, 3) Based on the season

Galaxy Chocolate // $6.80 (The Bakery Chef)
I have always been very sceptical about Galaxy cakes. The common stereotype about them: the prettier they are, the more awful they are going to be. One look at the cake and I immediately thought to myself, “This is going to be very sweet.” But you know what, I was wrong. It wasn’t very sweet at all! The inner chocolate was rich and so soft, it literally melts in your mouth. When your fork hits the bottom which is essentially the hazelnut crust, your heart will be screaming with joy. The combination was deadly and very addictive. Definitely scored very well in both presentation and taste! A must-order!

Coffee Chocolate Crunch // $7 (D'zerts Cafe)
This was definitely created for chocolate and coffee-lovers. The outer jello texture complemented the inner rich chocolate mousse so well. It wasn’t sweet and you won’t feel jelat after a few bites. To be honest, I have nothing bad to complain about this! A well-balanced of chocolate and coffee flavour! What I need now: A cup of tea to go with the cake. Also, through my trip to Cafehopping In A Box, I realised this new dessert place - D'zerts Cafe (where this cake is from) which wow-ed and won the hearts of everybody who ate this that day.

Lime Chiffon // $7 (D'zerts Cafe)
If you are the type that prefer pastries that are light, refreshing and fruity, you will fall in love with this pineapple & lime-flavoured cake instantly. We had the similar reaction because this cake comes from the same place as the Coffee Chocolate Crunch above. Our eyes were wide open when we popped it into our mouth. Do not worry about getting fat! You have to eat the cream! Doesn’t tastes artificial at all.

Lychee Rose Dome // $7.50 (Stray By Fatcat)
From Stray by Fatcat, this cake is specially designed and created to celebrate Cafehopping In A Box’s one year anniversary and is only exclusive at Cafehopping In A Box. Trust me, this must not be missed. The lychee flavour was aromatic and does not tastes artificial at all. It wasn’t sweet and I loved the texture and complexity of the lychee dome. Could easily finish two all by myself!

Earl Grey Lavender // $7 (Creme Maison)
My stomach was so full that I couldn’t tackle this pretty cake. Let me know if you have tried it and tell me if it’s good!

Thank you Vivian & Maxine for the great hospitality! Once again, congrats for turning one and to more successful years ahead!
