Element Restaurant at Amara Hotel...

Is your boyfriend/girlfriend’s birthday coming? Having troubles finding a venue to commemorate your anniversary? Looking for a place to impress your partner? Fret not, Element Restaurant at Amara Hotel may just be the perfect place for you to spend some quality time with your loved ones over a carefully-curated dinner.

This coming Monday, 18th September 2017 at 6.30pm, Element Restaurant will launched a brand new menu as well as a coveted dining concept envisioned by the newly-joined and well-experienced Italian Executive Chef Carmelo. Instead of the usual buffet line at night, it will be replaced with a $88++ per person Mediterranean-styled dinner that consists of 9 different plates of appetisers, 1 pasta main course, 1 meat/fish main course and a dessert.

Concentrating on using the freshest and finest produce from the Mediterranean regions, Chef Carmelo presents his dishes in a healthier manner without compromising on the flavour and creativity. Overall, I would rate this meal an impactful and memorable one.

Hurry and be the first 18 people to make a reservation with Element restaurant because you can get to enjoy this Mediterranean feast for only $68++ per person instead of $88++ per person. Trust me, it will be a very enjoyable experience and you can hardly find such cuisine elsewhere in Singapore.

Some of you might find the meal a bit too costly but I can assure you it’s worth every single penny, and I mean you would want to give your loved ones the best right? This Mediterranean-styled meal is really damn value-for-money! The service is also top-notch (Staff was attentive and paid much attention to the guest). Romantic ambience as well! A good investment to make your spouse happy! I left with a very satisfying stomach!

1) 9 Different Types of Appetisers

Are you kidding me? We are going to kickstart our meal with 9 appetisers? Yes, you will be served with an array of ‘small plates’ of nine appetisers:

1. 24 Months aged Parma Ham with Melon and Asparagus
2. D.O.P Buffalo Mozzarella from Campania with Tomatoes and Basil
3. Selection of Grilled Seasonal Vegetables
4. Seared Tuna with Cappers and Celery Salad
5. Sicilian Salmon Gravlax with Lemon and Beetroot
6. Deep Fried Calamari with Garlic Mayo Sauce
7. Deep Fried Rice Ball with Spicy Tomato Sauce
8. Seafood Salad with Orange and Fennel Seeds
9. Watermelon Salad with Strawberry and Cherry Tomatoes

I’ll be sharing with you some appetisers I tried (not all because I don’t want to spoil your surprise). My favourites were the Salmon, Calamari and Tuna. I was especially surprised by how well-marinated the calamari was. It was flavourful and not oily at all.

2) First Main Course - Pasta

Followed by one selection from the first main course:

1) Homemade Cavatelli with Tomato and Aubergines Ragout
2) Spaghetti with Fresh Clams, White Wine, Garlic Chilli and Olive Oil
3) Linguine with Lobster and Shell Fish Sauce (minimum two orders)
4) Tagliatelle with 8 Hours Slow Cooked Beef, Pork Ragout and Fennel Seeds

5) Duck Ravioli with Sage Butter and Pistachio

The pastas were well-cooked with a very nice texture. Cooked with fresh produce, all of the pasta had a natural sweetness which lingers in the mouth. Personally, I love 2 & 3. They were really very flavourful.

3) Second Main Course - Meat or Seafood

In the Italian menu structure, the second main course consists of several types of meat or fish
selections. Diners can pick from:

1) Charcoal Grilled Turbot Fillet with Chickpea Cream
2) Roasted Wild Sea Bass Fillet with Zucchini Crust and Zucchini salad
3) Seafood Soup with Grouper in Bread Bowl
4) Charcoal Grilled Beef “Tagliata” with Rocket Leaves and Parmesan (minimum two orders)
5) Stonebaked Corn-fed Spring Chicken “Diavola”
6) Charcoal Grilled Lamb Rack, Eggplant and Other Vegetables in Sweet and Sour Sauce

Because I was so full, I only manage to try the Seafood Soup with Grouper in Bread Bowl. The broth was really sweet and flavourful, and the fish was so melty. Dip the bread into the soup for maximum pleasure.

4) Desserts

Every sumptuous meal should finish on a sweet note. Choose the desired dessert:

1) Mango Pudding
2) Tiramisu
3) Chocolate Dome
4) Mascarpone Tarte

I’m always a sucker for desserts. I tried the Chocolate Dome and Mango Pudding. Personally, I would pick the Chocolate Dome not because I’m a chocolate-lover, but because of its strong and not overpowering chocolate flavour! It was very pleasurable to the tastebuds!

  1. This place is a gem in this wasteland of small bars. Came to event venue Atlanta on a Saturday night around 9:30, not too crowded at that time. Ordered 2 beers and fries and the total was around $16.
