Suzette...

The same team behind Lola’s Café and On The Table has recently opened another dessert bar, Suzette. Besides specializing in a whole range of different desserts (from cakes to tarts), Suzette also offers light but mouth-watering savoury menu. Also, starting from this Saturday (5th November) onwards, you can rent a picnic basket for $50 (they will return you the deposit once you returned the basket) and a mat will be provided for you.

Located conveniently in Esplanade, Suzette is a modern and sleek café that gives off a very cosy feeling. If you don’t like the outdoors, you can still enjoy a cup of coffee in the café itself while nibbling on their delectable in-house bakes.

I had an awesome picnic experience the other day at Esplanade, featuring all the delicious food and desserts from Suzette - Pulled Duck Burger, Quinoa Rice Bowl, Acai Smoothie Bowl, Coffee Hazelnut Tart, Raspberry Loaf Cake with Lemon Curd, Passionfruit and Basil Cheese Cake, Banana Earl Grey Cake, Lemon Meringue Tart, Cold Brew Coffee, Iced White Coffee and Iced Single Origin Chocolate.

Definitely felt very relaxing and it was a good time to bond with your loved ones! You can also watch the sunset together!

Passionfruit and Basil Cheese Cake // $8

The cake was soft and moist. The passionfruit flavour was not very strong but it leaves a subtle aftertaste which lingers in the mouth for quite a while. The basil taste was mild but it did enhance the texture and aromatic of the entire cake. My favourite was the crushed cereal acting as the tart of the cake which was so aromatic and crunchy. A must-try!

Banana Earl Grey Cake // $8

What makes a good banana cake lies in its flavour and texture. A good banana cake must has strong banana flavour as well as chunks of banana in it. The banana cake at Suzette was not too bad. I could smell and taste the strong aroma of banana, and there’s little bits of banana in the cake itself. Besides that, it also has a tint of earl grey flavour which you can only taste it after chewing the cake in your mouth.

Lemon Meringue Tart // $6

The same Lemon Meringue Tart you can find at Lola’s Café. This definitely perk me up (because it was sour) in a good way. If you like sour desserts, you might want to go for this. Eat this and bid the Zzz monster goodbye!

Raspberry Loaf Cake with Lemon Curd // $6

Again, the raspberry loaf was soft and moist (not too chunky). The lemon curd in the middle further adds a sour element to the already sweet loaf.

Coffee Hazelnut Tart // $6

This was probably my favourite dessert at Suzette! The tart was so chocolatey, especially the strong hazelnut flavour which was so addictive. I could also taste a bit of Nutella which I’m not very sure of but whatever it is, it brings out the aroma of the chocolate tart. Also, the coffee flavour was subtle but lingers in the mouth.

Quinoa Rice Bowl // $16

Comes with Fajita Chicken, Guacamole, Charred Corn & Chilli Lime Dressing

This was legit yummy! I didn’t expect quinoa to taste so good. The home-made guacamole was very flavourful and addictive. I couldn’t stop myself from finishing it. The chicken was well-marinated, tender and juicy. The chilli lime dressing was well-mixed! All in all, the combination in the quinoa rice bowl was very very very tasty! No joke!

Pulled Duck Burger // $17

Comes with Chipotle Lime Mayo and Fresh Mango Salsa

This dish was well thought-out! The shredded duck meat was not too sweet and it was tender. It goes extremely well with the sour chipotle lime mayo sauce as well as the crunchy mango salsa. The buns were also well-buttered! Definitely a must-order at Suzette!

Acai Smoothie Bowl // $10

Comes with Fresh Fruits & Cereal Crumble

This was very refreshing, especially under the hot weather in Singapore. The texture was very good with the cereal crumble added into the acai. Fruits were also very fresh!

Thank you Suzette for having me as well as the great hospitality! I had a great time picnicking with the foodies!

  1. Went here for a great all-you-can-eat buffet and they held nothing back. The food, service and mostly the staff at LA venue were truly amazing. I was starving and am one of those voracious "sampling" type eaters who has to try everything in a buffet, and I couldn't make it!
