If you have been following me very closely, you will know that I’m always a sucker for matcha-related desserts. I’ll travel that extra mile just to get my matcha cravings fixed. Recently, I was so stoked to find out that Lady M Singapore has launched their September Special – Green Tea Checkers Cake and of course, I had to get my hands on it.

I decided to head down to the outlet at South Beach Avenue since it is quieter (you don't have to queue), more laid-back and more convenient for me. Also, I’ll get to try the exclusive Earl Grey Mille Crepes only available at South Beach Avenue.

Lady M at South Beach Avenue is also a great chilling spot for the F1 this weekend! You can have a good view of the race while sipping on a good cup of coffee and enjoying a slice of cake. It is also very accessible by public transport – located outside Esplanade Mrt Station!

Green Tea Checkers Cake

Only available till the end of September, this Green Tea Checkers Cake is not only aesthetically-pleasing, it is also very pleasurable to the taste buds. I believe most people who loves both chocolate and matcha will definitely fall in love with this exquisite cake. The chocolate flavour hits you when you take the first bite, and ends off with a strong matcha aroma and flavour in your mouth. Also, it wasn’t too sweet and the cake was really moist. If you are a hardcore matcha fan, you might find the chocolate a bit overpowering but if you are a matcha-chocolate fan, you seriously need to try this! Hurry and try it before September ends!

Earl Grey Mille Crepes

I have never once doubt the standard of Lady M’s mille crepes because they never fail to impress me. I would safely say that the Earl Grey Mille Crepes which is only exclusive at the South Beach Avenue outlet caught me off by surprise. It wasn’t too sweet and the earl grey flavour wasn’t artificial. This cake was light, with a subtle earl grey aroma. It was also soft and moist. Perfect cake for the afternoon tea break!
