Mother’s Day is around the corner. Have you thought of how to celebrate it with your mum this year? Other than buying her a gift to show your appreciation, why not treat your mum to a specially-curated meal at Angelina Singapore where you can also spend some quality time with her? I would definitely do that if I were you. We could probably catch up on the things we had missed during the meal.

Located at a hidden corner at Capitol Piazza, Angelina Singapore is a renowned sophisticated tearoom and patisserie from Paris which was founded in 1903 and best known for its delicatessen and rich French heritage. To celebrate Mother’s Day this year, Angelina Singapore has rolled up a special menu that offers mouth-watering dishes bound to make all mothers fall in love.

Available from May 13 to May 20, the Mother’s Day menu is priced at S$50 for a 3 course meal and S$59.90 for a 4 course meal. I will recommend the 4 course meal because it comes with a special dessert – Charlotte and you should know the pastries at Angelina Singapore are top-notch. L'Africain // $13

This picture tells everything. Look at how alluring this chocolate drink is. Chocolate-lovers will die for this! The chocolate is rich, thick and super concentrated. It is also very aromatic. Add the cream if you prefer your chocolate drink to be a little creamier. I will if I were you. Overall verdict: Very sinful but definitely worth it!

Duo of Scallop & Octopus. Caviar. Garlic Butter. Cheese Popcorn. Tomato Puree.

Starting the Mother’s Day course meal on the brightest note with the first dish. Trust me, your mum and yourself will be impressed with the creative play of ingredients here. The scallop was well-cooked – soft, juicy and the natural sweetness & flavour lingers in my mouth. I fell in love with the scallop when I only ate a small piece of it. It was really amazing! The octopus, on the other hand, was a little too hard for me to handle but it was definitely flavourful. I also like how the cheese popcorn adds an extra crunchiness to the dish.

King Trumpet Mushroom. Miso Vinaigrette. Parmesan Tuile. Truffle Salt.

The truffle smell was filling the restaurant when the second dish was served. The King Trumpet Mushroom was soaked with truffle flavour and it was very soft. Love how the truffle taste retains in the mouth even after swallowing the mushroom. This was indeed very delicious!

Smoked Duck Breast. Chorizo. Caramelized Endive. Au Jus.

Here comes the highlight and my favourite dish of the Mother’s Day menu – Smoked Duck Breast. Served medium rare, the smoked duck was tender, juicy and has a subtle smoky flavour. The sauce went very well with the duck, adding a sweeter flavour to the savoury duck. Oh ya, and I love the sausages which were so flavourful.

A pity the Mother’s Day special pastry – Charlotte was still unavailable for us to try but in order to satisfy our sweet tooth, we got ourselves some of the most popular and signature pastries of Angelina Singapore. The pastries we tried had something in common – they were very soft and has a mousse-kind of texture but with different flavours. Pomelo, as the name suggests, has a strong and rich pomelo flavour. Mont Blanc, Angelina Singapore’s signature and also my favourite, has a strong chestnut flavour which was deadly addictive. Last but not least, Caprice au Caramel is definitely created for caramel-lovers. What you need to go with all these cakes – coffee and tea. That’s what a teatime should be!

I could really spend my entire afternoon at Angelina Singapore. The restaurant is posh, classy and very cosy. Also, the service staffs are well-trained and very friendly. I believed all your mothers will love to dine in this place. Thank you Angelina Singapore and Levitate PR for having me!
