Collin's...

Christmas is not always about spending extravagantly to make yourself and your loved ones happy. More often than not, most people would opt for a simple Christmas celebration without burning a hole in their pocket. Located at Marina Square, Collin’s is a mid-range restaurant that serves an extensive range of affordable Western cuisine without short-changing the quality of its food. The nice and cosy environment at Collin’s also makes it an ideal place for you to celebrate Christmas this year with your families and friends.

To spice up your Christmas feast, Collin’s is offering a glass of red wine (Hardys Varietal Shiraz 2014) for only S6.

If you don’t take alcoholic drinks, Collin’s do offers a wide range of decent coffee, teas, shakes and mocktails.

Besides their Christmas special, they also have a great variety of Western dishes for you to choose from. It’s really a good few pages of mains in their menu and there’s a picture for every food in the menu (especially for people like me who needs to see a photo of the food before I order).

The pizza was huge and thick. I’ve never ever liked thin crust pizza. I mean you eat pizza because of the dough and flavour. Yes, thin crust pizzas are crispy but what’s the point of eating a pizza if there’s not much dough to start with? Thankfully, the pizza at Collin’s was thick and fragrant. The flavour was strong and they were really generous in the ingredients they placed on top of the pizza.

Mushroom Chestnut Soup with Parmesan Puff

This comes with Collin’s Christmas set and I thought it was value-for-money. I wouldn’t say that it is the best mushroom soup but for the price you are paying, it’s really worth it. The flavour was strong and again, they were generous in the ingredients they put in the soup. If only the soup was creamier and not too watery, I would have given it a full score. My favourite was probably the parmesan puff which complements the soup extremely well. Cheesy and salty, super awesome.

Grilled Chicken Steak with Collin's Homemade Caramelised Onion Sauce // $15.90

The chicken was well-marinated and tender. It goes well with the homemade caramelised onion sauce which I thought wasn’t too sweet. The salad greens were really good, especially the sauce. I couldn’t stop because it was so addictive. On a side note, I feel that the chicken would have been tastier if the cheese was more melted.

Flame-Grilled Air Flown Sirloin Steak // $19.90

The portion of the beef was just right. It was tender and juicy. There wasn’t a lot of fats in the beef so you don’t have to worry about feeling jelat after a while.
