Pope Jai Thai...

Pope Jai Thai is the first local F&B business to employ underprivileged people with physical and intellectual disabilities. Working very closely with SGenable, Daniel Teh, owner of Pope Jai Thai, strongly believes in inclusive hiring, providing a platform for the disabled to feed themselves. Such a selfless act is truly admirable!

I was given the opportunity to have a walk-through in the kitchen, experiencing the whole operation process as well as an understanding on how Daniel trains his people. There are simple innovations, detailed routines and templates to help trainees learn and adapt to their tasks.

They have recently opened their second outlet at the youthful *SCAPE (just a week ago), hoping to create an awareness among the youths. On top of being a social enterprise, I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed with the Thai dishes served at Pope Jai Thai. They were delicious and very affordable. There is also no GST and service charge. Everything is in nett pricing! What’s more! They are also the first Thai restaurant in Singapore to serve THAI ICE TEA & THAI GREEN TEA TOWER!!!

So, wait no more! Head to *SCAPE and show them your support!

What a sumptuous spread! In frame, Thai Green Curry, Garlic Honey Chicken, Homemade Thai Fish Cake, Grilled Pork Stick, BBQ Pork Collar, Prawn Cracker and Seafood Pad Thai.

Thai Iced Tea Tower
My god! I couldn’t stop myself from keep drinking it. Freshly brewed from the tea leaves imported from Thailand, this Iced Thai Tea is refreshing and very soothing! I can replaced this with beer!

Garlic Honey Chicken // $12
The chicken was well-marinated, crispy and has a subtle tangy flavour. It wasn't dry and tough as well. They were very generous with the servings, definitely good for 2-3 people. It was really addictive!

Homemade Thai Prawn Cake (3Pcs) // $8.80
I was shocked (in a good way) when I bite the prawn cake. Within the crispy batter lies a soft and flavourful minced prawn fillings which was very pleasurable to the taste bud. Dip it into the Thai chilli sauce for maximum pleasure! 3 is definitely not enough!

Thai Green Curry (Chicken) // $9
The Green Curry at Pope Jai Thai is richer and thicker than the ones you usually find elsewhere. It was also very aromatic. Give me a bowl of rice. I only need the green curry sauce!

BBQ Pork Collar // $15
The pork collar was well-marinated, flavourful and not too tough. How to eat this? Pair it with onion and the in-house savoury sauce!

Seafood Phad Thai // $8.80
Phad thai was fragrantly stir-fried, served with a generous portion of seafood. The flavour was well-balanced, not overly sweet.

Grilled Pork Stick (2 Pcs) // $6
Again, the pork was well-marinated, tender and juicy. My favourite was the fatty part which was damn chewy.

Mango Sticky Rice // $6.80
Mango was fresh and sweet, and the coconut flavour on the sticky rice was extremely fragrant. What a way to complete my meal!

Red Ruby // $5
With everything made in-house, this red ruby is a life-saver when the weather in Singapore is always burning hot. Very refreshing!
