The Art Space Specialty Coffee...

The Art Space Specialty Coffee celebrated its grand opening on 16th December 2015, along with their newly launched menu which includes burgers and sandwiches, and they also extended their operation hours to 8pm. Located at the first level of Suntec City, you can now enjoy good coffee, tea and food while appreciating art all at the same time. I was really very honoured to be part of their special day and thanks Shona and Artisan C for inviting me.

"This is what I had the other day at The Art Space Specialty Coffee"

Pure Peppermint Leaves // $5.90
Would highly recommend getting this if you are not feeling well or having a bad hangover. Not only is this peppermint tea very refreshing, it is also very photo-worthy.

Spicy Cheese Pork Croissant // $8.90
Who doesn't love melted cheese? I do. The melted cheese goes extremely well with the marinated spicy pork in the croissant. The croissant is fluffy, crispy, and most importantly, it was not dry at all. I was really very impressed by this dish, so simple but yet so good. However, it was too spicy for me. I would strongly recommend getting their non-spicy croissant if you are unable to take spicy food.

Signature Seoul Beef Burger // $10.90
Didn't get to snap a good photo of the burger because it was really hard to get rid of the melted cheese on the bulgogi. The beef bulgogi was really very delicious because it was so well-marinated. Reminds me of the bulgogi I had in Korea. The kimchi was fresh and well-marinated, adds more crunchiness to the entire burger. The honey butter chips at the sides were really good too. Again, it was too spicy for me.

Besides having good coffee, tea and food, they also have a small art gallery in their cafe.

20F Specialty Coffeehouse...

20F Specialty Coffeehouse is a fairly new cafe that has already caught the attention of many people. I came across many good reviews about the cafe online, be it complimenting it's services, food or ambiance, which ultimately sparked my interest towards this cafe. I called them the other day to make a reservation for 14 people on a Friday evening. The staff was really very friendly over the phone. He answered my queries patiently and described to me how to get to the cafe. Honestly speaking, he did not need to do that but the fact that he actually went the extra mile to inform me about how to get to the cafe was commendable. I was really thankful for his kind gestures.

I think age is really catching up on me. It's so funny how I mixed up the reservation timing even though I called them twice to check. Oh well, at least we were early than late. The cafe is about 10-15 minutes walk from Lavender Mrt station, and I would strongly suggest that you turn on your Google Maps if you do not wish to get lost. It's really hard to find this cafe if you are not relying on GPS. So, if you want to save the trouble and time, do heed my advice.

The cafe is pretty small but spacious, and you place your order at the counter. As usual, the staff is really very friendly.

Prawn & Poached Egg Pasta // $17
Pasta was really very creamy and it's not jelat (You won't get sick after a while). Prawns were really fresh. The best part of the pasta was the oozing egg. You know I hate it when the egg doesn't ooze out when it is suppose to. Thank God, the poached egg oozed out so perfectly in this pasta. Drizzle some of the egg yolk onto the pasta and prawn, it just tastes so heavenly.

Ribeye Pasta // $26
As compared to the Prawn & Poached Egg Pasta, this pasta is not as impressive. Perhaps because I'm not a huge fan of beef and dry pasta. But I got to give some credit to the tender and juicy beefs which added some flavours to the overall dish.

Ribeye Burger // $24
Again, I'm not a huge fan of beef but the beefs are really tasty. One thing to note though is that there are too many greens in this burger. I'm alright with eating greens but this is way too much I think. If you like to eat something that is not too heavy, perhaps this burger is the thing for you.

20F Flats // $17
"Never judge a book by its cover," this is what I will describe about this dish. Initially, I was shocked when this was served onto the table. It looks very weird and I don't find it very appetising. However, I was wrong when I tasted it. It was so delicious. By the way, you can either choose Pulled Duck with Chipotle Sauce or Pulled Pork with Fresh Guacamole. It also comes with Nachos with their homemade dip. We order both and both tasted equally good. The meats were fresh and tender and of course, the poached egg is awesome. I also like the sauce they made for the nachos. Overall, this is a very impressive dish.

Duck & Waffle // $22
My favourite dish of the cafe. No doubt why so many people came here to try this because it is unique and yummy. The duck confit is well-marinated and very crispy. I applaud the chef for his/her creativity as well as taking the risk to create this dish. Never knew duck can go so well with waffles and ice cream. I also like the Mixed Berries Sorbet which is so refreshing. I would definitely be back for this again.

Overall, I enjoyed my dinner at 20F. Everything was really good - Service was excellent and food was outstanding. A pity my stomach didn't have any room left for desserts but I would be back to try their Matcha Cake. I heard it is really good. 20F is a cafe that other cafes need to look out for.

Old Hen Coffee Bar...

I bet a lot of people are very familiar with Old Hen Coffee Bar because of its Cold Brews which are always appearing on social media. There have been many praises about Old Hen Coffee Bar which explains why they are always so fully occupied. Situated at Rangoon Road, this is one cafe you shouldn't miss.

I have always wanted to try the food and drink at Old Hen but somehow the cafe is always full when I'm there even though I chose to avoid the lunch crowd. (Okay, the cafe is also very small to begin with.) Thanks to the sudden downpour the other day, I finally got myself a table.

Their menu is pretty simple and ordinary, nothing of fanciful and there isn't much variations to their brunch menu which saves you a lot of time on deciding what to eat. In the end, I ordered the Crab Coleslaw Burger (because first it's unique, and second it sounded so tasty), Panna Cotta (I'm a huge fan of desserts), Homemade Waffles (Ladyironchef named it one of the best waffles in Singapore), and of course their Cold Brews.

The food was served pretty quickly, took like less than 20 minutes.

Old Hen Cold Brews // $6.50 per bottle
Hands down, the Dark Cocoa Velvet Brown is way nicer than the Cold Brew Coffee Creamy White. The Creamy White tasted too much like milk to me and I couldn't taste any coffee at all. This would be very popular among milk-lovers or those that prefers decaf coffee. On the other hand, the Velvet Brown was really good. The coffee was soothing to the throat, and it is not too bitter or sweet - definitely what you need to combat Singapore's hot and humid weather.

Crab Coleslaw Burger // $15
This burger is enormous! The first thing that came to my mind when this burger was served onto my table was that "How do I go about tackling(eating) this burger?" I guess the answer would be to eat it like a barbarian. Crab meat and coleslaw are mixed pretty well, and they added some cereal to make the entire burger crunchier. The crab meat is spicy but not that overwhelming (especially for those that cannot take spicy very well).  The sweet potato chips are really crunchy and tasty. Definitely a very thoughtful and healthy dish with many different flavours.

Panna Cotta // $6
I can't believe my eyes when I saw the price of the Panna Cotta on the menu because it was really cheap. You get to satisfy your sweet tooth without burning a huge hole in your pocket. The Panna Cotta comes with Salted Caramel Popcorn and you'll be surprised that these two actually complements one another very well. The popcorn was well-mixed, and it is not too sweet while the panna cotta is smooth and soft. I can have two of this by myself.

Homemade Waffles // $10
Perharps one of the healthiest waffle I've ever come across. You know we always say that waffles and ice cream should come together as one but this dish proves otherwise. The waffles actually tasted really good with the apple compote and greek yogurt sauce. No wonder it is named one of the best waflles in Singapore by Ladyironchef. Definitely one of the dessert you should get if you want to satisfy your tastebuds as well as maintaining your figure.

A pity I didn't get to try their cakes as there wasn't much for me to choose from but I will be back to try their highly raved-about Matcha Raspberry Cake.

If you haven't been to Old Hen, you should drop by one day. A good place to relax yourself, do your work or even chill with your friends.

Kaffles...

Only available on Saturday from 6pm-1am at Stirling, Kaffles has been one of the most hyped cafe recently. It's delicious-looking waffles have been taking the social media by storm, and many people have since travelled all the way just to try their waffles. Their Speciality Kaffles (Thai Milk Tea Kaffles, Nutella Kinder Bueno Kaffles, Speculoos Cookie Crunch Kaffles, and Koko Kaffles) are definitely worth the hype!

Located almost at the end of Cheong Chim Nam Road, it's very easy to spot Stirling Cafe. You can find Kaffles inside Stirling. There wasn't much people when we arrived in the evening, perhaps the best time to come here would be from 6.30pm - 7.30pm.

You will see this when you are outside Stirling Cafe. The design of the cafe is simple and modern.

When you walk down Cheong Chin Nam Road, look for this sign thar says "Kaffles". You will know what I mean when you are there. It's about 5-10 minutes walk.

Same as it's exterior, the interior design of the cafe is simple and modern. Even though it's not very big, it is still very cosy. If you want to have some proper food before the waffles, Stirling offers a wide variety of American food in their menu. Since this blog post is only on Kaffles, I will not talk much about Stirling.

This is the menu of Kaffles. Would highly recommend just getting their speciality Kaffles because you don't have to crack your head on what to order.

We ordered their Thai Milk Tea Kaffles and Nutella Kinder Bueno Kaffles. It takes about 15 minutes before the waffes are served. Besides being so good-looking, it is also really very tasty.

Thai Milk Tea Kaffles // $12.90
The highly raved Thai Milk Tea Kaffles really lives up to its hype. I was very impressed when I tasted the waffles on its own, without dipping it onto any sauce. The waffles itself were already infused with thai milk tea sauce which was not too empowering, and sweet. Waffles were a mixture of crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside.  The thai milk tea sauce was drizzled onto the waffles generously, further adding more flavours to the waffles. The ice cream was not too bad but I thoughr it could be smoother. I don't really like ice cream that are in chunks. Ice cream cone was surprisingly good. Overall, this signature dish is really very impressive and I can see that a lot of thoughts have been put into the dish, from its presentation to its taste. Definitely worth trying!

Nutella Kinder Bueno Kaffles // $11.90
As compared to the Thai Milk Tea Kaffles, the Nutella Kinder Bueno Waffles is not as remarkable. I'm not trying to say that it doesn't tastes yummy but when you put this with the thai milk tea flavoured one, I will definitely choose the thai milk tea flavoured one. Again, the waffles were infused with nutella sauce with kinder bueno on the side.
