The Chop House...

The weekends are becoming very precious to me ever since I’ve started working. To reward myself, I’ll usually head out early in the morning for a nice brunch. Just last week, I brought my mum to The Chop House at Vivo City for a meal and we were both very impressed with their new ‘Boozy Brunch’ promotion!

Exclusively at The Chop House (Vivo City), this Boozy Brunch is only available on the weekends from 11am-4pm. Not only can you expect to see an extensive range of comforting classics, you can also enjoy a 2-hours FREE FLOW Paulaner beers, red and white wines at $48 as well as purchase a bottle of champange at only $88! What a great deal! Coupled with the amazing view at their alfresco area, this is what the weekends should feel like!

I have high expectations of The Chop House since it is the sister outlet of Wooloomooloo Steakhouse and I’m glad it didn’t disappoint! In frame, The Big Breakfast, Baked Eggs – Proscuitto & Creamy Spinach, Egg Royale, Mac & Cheese, Mushroom Risotto with Foie Gras and Australian Grass Fed Tenderloin. I was very satisfied with the meal!

The Chop House is nicely decorated, with a strong rustic vibe. It feels extremely comfortable sitting inside the restaurant.

I prefer sitting at the alfresco area. The sea view is stunning! Very relaxing!

Enjoying my champagne!

My mum got a mocktail since she dislikes alcoholic drink. The drink was very similar to a virgin Lychee Mojito with the lychee and mint well-balanced. Very refreshing! Also, generous servings of the lychee fruits!

Started the meal with a flavourful bowl of seafood soup which comes with a generous servings of sweet clams. The soup was rich and creamy! Crispy garlic breads were added to give more texture to the soup!

Mac & Cheese // $8
For $8, the portion is really huge! The Mac & Cheese at The Chop House is creamier than the ones you usually find but it wasn’t very jelat. Very cheesy as well!

Eggs Royale // $14
The eggs were super runny! It goes very well with the fresh salmon, toast and hollandaise sauce. Simple but very delicious!

Baked Eggs - Proscuitto & Creamy Spinach // $20
Not a huge fan of this dish because I dislike spinach. You might like this but I thought the spinach flavour was too strong! The eggs were cooked beautifully though.

The Big Breakfast // $20
This was definitely my favourite brunch item at The Chop House. The pancakes were soft and fluffy, the bacon was well-seasoned and crispy, the mushrooms were well-sautéed and the pork sausages were flavourful. Can’t really find any fault in this dish! It was hearty indeed!

Mushroom Risotto with Foie Gras // $26
The risotto was flavourful but I thought it could have been cooked longer so that it is not so hard. The foie gras was well-cooked because there wasn’t any game taste and smell. Portion is huge as well.

Australian Grass Fed Sirloin // $34
This was the highlight of my day! The tenderloin was well-marinated and well-cooked. It was tender and super juicy. My mum wasn’t very keen in trying because she didn’t dare to eat medium rare steak because it is a little bloody. So, I cut a small slice for her and she was very impressed. A MUST-ORDER!

Hot Chocolate Brownies // $7
The brownies were not too bad. It was rich and has a subtle bitter aftertaste which I really liked. But I wished the brownies were a little moister.

Sago Gula Melaka
The sago at the bottom wasn’t overly sweet, and it goes very well with the ice cream. You can also add gula melaka to enhance the flavour. My mum loves this!
